Casting Call- Wizard casts the Battle Chasers Movie! It's a call to battle, Hollywood. Battle Chasers the comic unleased a powerful spell on the comic book-reading community. Put this magic on the silver screen in the form of a "Battle Chasers" movie and millions of people will soon be entranced. All the ingredients simply await a good stirring. There's a mysterious cast of swordsmen, giant metal warriors, beautiful women and powerful sorcerers. Then there's a diesel-fueled plot stacking the heroes up against a force of evil so tremendous that it sould have its own ZIP code. And don't count out more twists than can be found in your average Slinky. Fans will fight for seats when this high-tech, sword-and-sorcery film comes out, and we will, too. Hopefully, though, everyone'll check their swords at the door.
Ken Wahl as Garrison the Swordsman! This meaty "Wiseguy" star has a piercing stare and the body of a sword-fightin' man. As the warrior Garrison, Ken Wahl would make the greatest cut of all.
Jenna Jameson as Red Monika! Sex sells. Look at Red Monika; her bodice-stretching appearances in Battle Chasers have fanboys in a lather. Who better to play Monika than adult-film star Jenna Jameson ("Howard Stern's Private Parts") with some red hair dye. We think Monika would be the perfect bust-out role for the sultry vixen.
Joel Grey as Knolan the Sorcerer! Remember Cho, the ancient martial artist wizard from "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins"? He was played by Joel Grey, a magical man if ever there was one. By any other name, the wizened Grey is Knolan.
Beverly Mitchell as Gully! Little-girl lost Gully has been found. She's escaped into the real world and goes by the name Beverly Mitchell from TV's "7th Heaven."
Kelsey Grammer as Calibretto! Combine Kelsey Grammer's gravelly voice as Frasier Crane ("Frasier") with a massive special-effects-created metal frame, and you have the perfectly calibrated Calibretto!
Christopher Plummer as King Vaneer! Hail to the king, baby! Chris Plummer ("12 Monkeys") does evil so devilishly good, it's bad. Which is great, we think. Consider this Plummer's official coronation.
Shaq O'Neal as Maestro the Warrior! Basketball star Shaquille O'Neal ("Steel") has a massive frame and imposing on-court demeanor. Tack a few scars on his face and throw him a sword, and he'll practically slam dunk the role of the fiendish Maestro.
Also: Ken Hudson as Bengus! Weight Watchers be damned! Ken Hudson's ("Armageddon") bulk and flair for snideness make him one big, rude dude. And the perfect portly rogue Bengus. -Article reprinted from Wizard #89! |
