Welcome back, folks!  Here is the 2nd issue of Battle Chasers! Like the cover?  Wait'll ya read the whole thing!   We open the book to the first page, where we see a beautiful sunrise, and two soldiers riding on horseback.  They have left where the spot that their captain assigned them, and Jarren, one of the two soldiers, states that this is a bad idea.   He doesn't even know where they are going.  Clavius, the other soldier, tries to calm him, as they keep riding.  They were investigating what happened at Aramus' cottage, and Clavius knows that the man he seeks can help him in solving the mystery of the missing family of Aramus.  They arrive at a dump of a house, that appears to be half-finished.  Clavius screams 'HELLO?', and Garrison calls from the shadows of the porch.  He is holding a bottle of alcoholic beverage, and looks disheveled and drunk.   Clavius explains the situation, and he then states that Gully was kidnapped.   Garrison's hand starts shaking and he breaks the alcoholic bottle in his hand.   Clavius asks him to help with the search.  Garison then gets angry, and seeks Clavius' sword.  He shrugs, and backs down.  Garrison tells him to leave his home, and NEVER return.  Jarren rides up, and states what a dump the place really is and to leave the drunk to his alcohol.

Clavius & Jarren!

Clavius defends Garrison against Jarren's biting remarks and you hear the two men talking in the background.  Clavius explains that Garrison's wife was killed on their wedding day and how Garrison was struck hard by this event.  Garrison is seen inside uncovering a picture of himself with Aramus, taken in better times.

We turn the page, where Knolan and Calibreto are seen talking in the sunlight, while Bretto feeds the birds that live outside Knolan's hut.

Bretto the birdfeeder!

Knolan tells 'Bretto that he is headed to the market to get some supplies.  He also says to NOT let Gully get ahold of the gloves that were in the box he had opened.  Knolan leaves at this point.   Calibretto then checks in on the sleeping Gully.  A knock at the door is heard.  Had Knolan forgotten something?  'Bretto answers it, and a huge gun is pounted at him!  The scene shifts back to Gully. She is awakened by a few strange noises.  She looks through a peephole to see what is going on.  Calibreto is seen on the ground, being pulled away by creatures, called Lycelots!  Gully dashes for the gloves in the box.

Gully finds her father's gloves!

The wolf who attacked her (see prelude and isssue 1) is seen, sniffing around for her.  At this point, Gully puts on the gloves!  The wolf turns around, and...a flash of light!  Gully in engulfed by the power of the gloves!

Gully...transformed!

The wolf breaks the door open, threatens her, and then slices at Gully with an ax!  The ax just snaps at the force of the blow, but Gully remains unharmed!  The Wolf now looks VERY scared.  Gully looks up, and is, well, VERY angry.

Wolf axes Gully...Not!...EVER!

We turn the page, where the Lycelots are seen taking 'Bretto slowly away from the scene of the crime, when they turn their heads, and see the wolf flyng our of the now ruined roof of Knolan's cottage!   As they stare in awe, Calibretto awakens!  He then, of course, kills them.

Go Bretto!

Next, Bretto hears the screams of Gully.  They come from the forest, so he is quite surprised.  He finds Gully on top of the wolf, just pounding away at him.  The wolf is bleeding, his jaw is broken, and he is quite literally dead.  Gully continues pounding him as she wants to know what he has done with her father, Aramus.

Tell...me!!!

'Bretto grabs her hand, and tells her that, "Enough-he can no longer give you the answers which you seek."   Gully realizes this, and starts to cry after her mad-on, explaining that she didn't mean to kill the wolf.

Gully kills the wolf!

We move on to the Mana Region (talked about in ish 1).  We see a castle, and a large man signing some papers. His servant comes with some food...and a little gift.  The servant then leaves, and the fat man opens the gift.  The card that came with it says, 'A bit of Mana if you will, your wildest dreams I shall fulfill.'  That intrigues the man.  He puts in the Mana, and a little doll pops out.  He likes it.  But suddenly the doll comes to life!  It attacks the man, then kills him!  The doll then turns into 'the Master' (see ish 1).  He apparently is looking for Knolan.

Then, we see Knolan, VERY upset at what had happened earlier in the story...he sees the remains of his home!  Wouldn't YOU be upset if your home was destroyed?  Calibretto tries to explain.  He talks about the gloves for a second, and then Knolan gets even more upset.  He tells 'Bretto to explain, and fast!

Knolan's mad! Uh-oh!

'Bretto then starts talking very fast.  Throughout the story telling, Knolan shouts 'Okay!' louder and louder.   Then he smacks 'Bretto on the head with his cane, & screams 'Where IS she?!'   'Bretto states that she is in what is left of the sun room.  Knolan walks in.   Gully is seen peering out the window.  She asks if she has to leave because of her damage.  Knolan lights his pipe and thinks.  He says that he is going to ask her to stay, instead of leaving.  We move on to someplace else, where Red Monika is, hehe, suiting up.  She is in a flying ship.  Many servants are seen kneeling down.  She asks, 'is everything ready?'  Her servants tell her yes.  The picture pulls back, and we see a huge prison just sitting the air.  It's Skyhold!   The raid is abouut to begin...be here next ish! It's gonna rock!

Skyhold!

To Be Continued!
