Creative Team: Joe Madureira, Munier Sharrieff and Tom McWeeney What You Should Know: After five issues of assembling, the team is finally a team. Gully (the little girl with amazing gauntlets of poer), Knolan the wizard, Calibretto the war golem and Garrison the reluctant swordsman are at long last united. What's Gonna Happen: The book officially moves to bimonthly status with February's #6 as the band starts its quest to find out what happened to Gully's missing- and presumed dead- father. But tensions rise when Gully figures out that Knolan knows more than he's telling. Meanwhile, it seems Calibretto, last of the war golems...is really not the last of the war golems. There are more like him, only they're a lot more souped-up and decidedly more nasty. Down The Road: Just why is Garrison so reluctant to fight? He's tellin' everyone it's because of a promise he made to his late wife. But it might have something to do with a previous relationship Garrison had with Red Monika, the most buxom of buxom mercenaries. And as 1999 progresses, we find out more about the world the 'Chasers inhabit. A lot of technology gets mixed in with the magic of the team's sword-and-sorcery setting. The Inside Scoop: You no longer have to live in a world without Battle Chasers merchandise. A Red Monika statue is definitely in the works for 1999, and deals for action figures, hats, T-shirts and even key chains are pending. -Reprinted from Wizard #90 with BC logo thanks to AnotherUniverse.com |
